How to Punch. Beginners Series.
After writing yesterdays article on developing a powerful knockout punch, I realised that that was going to be more of an advanced series for people who already have the basics down and want to improve.
If I’m going to do this properly though, I need to start from the beginning and cover the basics.
So, this series will take you through the basic instructions for performing the 4 basic punches in boxing. The Jab, the Cross, the Hook and the Upper Cut.
I’m going to describe all of the techniques from an orthodox stance, just to keep things simple. Obviously, if you are a southpaw, all you have to do is switch it around.
If you don’t know what orthodox or southpaw mean or you are not sure about your stance then you should read my article on Boxing stances first.
